Welcome to the Soul-Collage Tarot Journey Self-Study course. I offered this 22-week course for 3 years and it was very popular and fun for those who love learning about archetypes and creating SoulCollage® cards. Since then I have had queries about offering it again, and so I have decided to make it a self-study course that you can do over 22 weeks at your own leisure.
As you may already know, a Tarot deck contains 22 cards of the Major Arcana, each an archetype of the Self as we evolve and learn on the journey we call Life. We start out the lowly Fool #0, the Innocent with Beginner’s Mind and we end up dancing on The World #21, imbued with the wisdom of experience.
When you register you will receive a pdf with the links to 23 pdfs, including the Introduction. The Introduction offers a history of The Tarot, how to play with the cards, and how to determine your unique Tarot Profile, Shadow card, and Card of the Year. Then you you can start at 0-The Fool, and the following week proceed to 1-The Magician, and the next week, 2-The High Priestess, and so on, as you make a card each week for the archetype as you feel inspired.
Each week’s illustrated 5-page pdf explores ways of looking at the Tarot archetype and understanding its rich symbolism and esoteric knowledge, providing examples of archetypes from various Tarot decks. Each pdf contains journal prompts that will allow you to dig deeper into the wisdom of the archetype and its meaning for you. You will work (and play) with the archetypal energy, shape-shifting if you will, every week for almost half a year.
There will be an optional SoulCollage-Tarot Self-Study Facebook group so that you can share your wisdom and images with others taking the self-study course if you like. Although you may all be at different points along the journey, you can learn from each other and share what you have learned about yourself. I will occasionally post information about the Major Arcana archetypes there as well.
I hope you will enjoy taking this very rich journey, a pilgrimage of sorts, to better know yourself and the world through these magical archetypes.
Where to buy materials for your SoulCollage® Self-study Tarot Journey
You’ll need 22 cards (5″ x 8″ mat boards) and protective clear bags, which you can buy here, along with glue and scissors: SoulCollage website shop
Or you can go here to buy 5″ x 8″ mat boards in various colors, which can be helpful if you want to bring in similar background colors that are found on classic tarot decks like Rider-Waite-Smith, as well as protective clear bags: Kaleidosoul website shop
You may want to start collecting images now so that you have plenty to choose from, or get together with friends or other SoulCollagers and share the bounty. Look for images in magazines (National Geographic, Smithsonian, spiritual and women’s magazines are great sources), calendars, cards, and old illustrated books (I look for these at thrift shops and yard sales).
